Overview

UN1 is a community-driven circular fashion platform designed for LGBTQ+ users to share, redesign, and trade clothing in a safe and identity-affirming environment.

It combines peer-to-peer sharing, creator redesign services, and community profiles to support sustainable fashion and emotional belonging.

The Challenge

Mainstream fashion platforms often fail to support LGBTQ+ identity expression and safety.

Research finding

Difference between LGBT and straight people When choosing the clothes

Group 9577.png

How is society's problem toward LGBT crowd finding suitable clothes?

1.They can't wear what they define as their style or identity is less clear when they feel something wrong in dressing up in their unique style.

2.When men wear high heels there is a controversy over "girl stuff"and women are more limited when it comes to buying swimsuits

What I learned after the interview

I interview 6 LGBTQ students between 19-25 yrs about their shopping experience

1. Identity Expression Is Constrained

Users struggle to find clothing that reflects their personal style across traditional gender-based categories.

2. Poor Fit Is a Major Friction

PointStandard sizing does not accurately reflect diverse body types, leading to frequent returns, tailoring, or abandonment.

3. Shopping Feels Emotionally Uncomfortable

Buying gendered clothing—especially swimwear—creates discomfort and hesitation.

4. Users Actively Modify or Redesign Clothing

Many users resell, tailor, or redesign garments to better match their identity and fit.
